Coach Ben

Executive Director & Lead Coach

Legacy by Lomeli perfectly encapsulates Ben's background as a lifelong player and coach. Through his dedication, Ben has built a legacy focused on helping others reach their full potential. Over the course of three decades, Ben has accumulated an impressive array trophies and accolades, while most-importantly establishing strong relationships with his players. By recognizing each player’s distinct talents and skills, he cultivates an environment conducive to true development, motivating players to express their creativity and enhance their abilities, unlocking new levels of success for each individual.

“I’ve always considered myself a “players coach” by trying to create a playing/training environment that players will enjoy. Over the years, I’ve adopted training ideas and coaching styles from other players, coaches and mentors that I wanted to emulate.

I try to remember game concepts and training philosophies I wish I had been exposed to earlier in my soccer career and avoid those I did not enjoy. My coaching style is built simply around the idea that players want to be challenged, they want to see progress in their development, they want to be acknowledged for their ability but most importantly they want to enjoy the experience. As a coach, I always tried to develop the “total” player, one that is technically proficient, confident in their abilities, can make quick decisions, aggressive in defense, and fearless when attacking with a high soccer IQ. Some of these characteristics are natural or instinctive others must be learned and cultivated but EVERYONE can improve. There is an appropriate playing level for everyone who enjoys the game but that level must be determined by the individual. Coaches, trainers, parents and teammates can assist in that journey but an intrinsic motivation must exist in each individual to create their own “legacy.” - Ben Lomeli

Meet Cole, an exceptional talent from the valley who has made a mark in soccer. After four impressive years with Clovis East Men's Soccer, he took his skills to the collegiate level at Westmont College in Santa Barbara. As a team leader, Cole is dedicated to guiding his team towards a repeat PacWest Championship for the 25-26 season, while pursuing a business degree as a scholar athlete.
